Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show November 2011

 

 

 

 

 

 

Selected from more than 1,300 applicants, this premier exhibition and sale of contemporary American craft included 195 of the best craft artists in the United States.  The exhibition was held Thursday November 10-Sunday November 13 with a Preview Party opening the show Wednesday November 9.  Silversmith Kaminer Haislip exhibited in the highly competitive show and was awarded  The Eric Berg Prize for Excellence in Metal.

About Kaminer Haislip

Kaminer Haislip earned her BFA in Jewelry and Metals (2002) and MFA in Silversmithing and Design with a Minor in Sculpture (2005) from Winthrop University.  For both of her degrees she studied under Alfred Ward, an internationally acclaimed English silversmith.  Currently, she has a studio at Redux Contemporary Art Center in downtown Charleston, SC where she creates functional objects and jewelry.  In addition to her work as an artist, she is frequently commissioned by individuals to create custom designs. She exhibits her work nationally and internationally and has been featured in various publications.

The Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show is presented annually by the Museum’s Women’s Committee and Craft Show Committee for the benefit of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Funds raised are used to purchase works of art and craft for the permanent collections of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, to fund conservation and publication projects, and to support exhibitions and education programs.
